Welcome! We are a fun and exciting charity in Newcastle upon Tyne that specialises in improvisation, creating authentic work that brings people together as part of a community, providing joyful experiences, lots of laughter and lasting memories.
Our flagship School of Improv programme is the longest-running learning and participation ground for adult improvisers in the UK (est. 2003). We offer numerous workshops and shows all year round. Most of what we do is interactive and participatory in some way.
Using improv as inspiration and as a creative tool when making projects and producing events, we work in Schools, Universities and in partnership with other Cultural and Creative organisations. We're accomplished in training improv for Business and in delivering large Conference events. Our multi-award-winning executive creative team bring decades of experience.
We have been on a 3-year mission to open a community hub. 'The Third Place', the place you choose to go to, other than home or work. To play, relax, and meet diverse and like-minded people. A place where anyone can find belonging and wellbeing by participating in the creative arts. A place where more grassroots community artists can come together and support their groups. Our capital project continues to make progress. We hope it won't be much longer before our vision becomes reality.
