Today feels like a really big moment for us at Boho Arts
After several years of behind-the-scenes work, planning, consultation, fundraising and determination, we’re excited to share that Boho’s Inclusive Creative Arts Hub is moving towards the main construction phase, as today we begin the process of selecting and appointing the building contractor who will carry out the refurbishment works.

Thanks to the support of North East Combined Authority and Newcastle City Council, we are progressing with the transformation of this long-disused building into our future home - a place designed to be welcoming, accessible, and rooted in creativity, connection, and community.
When the hub opens, it will be a space for:
• performing arts and creative workshops
• rehearsal, participation, and performance
• people of all ages and backgrounds to connect and belong
• creativity as a force for wellbeing, confidence, and social change
“This project has always been about more than a building. It’s about creating a true Third Place - somewhere between home and work - where people feel safe to show up, take part, and be themselves. We’re incredibly grateful to the North East Combined Authority and Newcastle City Council for their backing and confidence in our vision.” Bev Fox, CEO and Co-Artistic Director, Boho Arts
Thank you to the local authorities for funding this capital project, and to everyone in our community who has donated along the way, supported us, taken part in our work, shared ideas, and cheered us. We couldn’t have reached this point without any of you.
There’s still lots to come, and we’ll be sharing updates as the project progresses - but today, we’re taking a moment to say thank you, and to celebrate reaching this milestone together
