PRICING

This page explains School of Improv pricing, including our tiered pricing model, courses, class passes and cancellation policies.

HOW OUR PRICING WORKS

As a charity, we want the School of Improv to be accessible while keeping our programme sustainable.

For this reason, we offer two price levels for classes. Supported places are made possible through Boho Arts and participants paying the Standard Price, helping people with limited means take part.

We trust our community to choose honestly based on their current circumstances.

📍STANDARD PRICE

Paying the Standard Price helps us maintain an accessible and sustainable programme.

Please choose the Standard Price if most of the following apply to you:

  • You are in stable employment or comfortably self-employed

  • You are able to meet your basic needs (housing, food, transport)

  • You have some disposable income for leisure activities

  • You have access to savings or financial support

  • Paying the Standard Price would not cause financial stress

📌 SUPPORTED PRICE

Supported places are subsidised by Boho Arts and participants paying the standard price.

They are intended for participants who would otherwise find it difficult to attend. You may choose the Supported Price if several of the following apply:

  • You are unemployed or under-employed

  • Your income is low, irregular, or uncertain

  • You rely on benefits or financial support

  • You frequently worry about meeting basic needs (housing, food, transport)

  • You have little or no disposable income for leisure activities

  • Paying the standard price would cause you financial stress

PROGRAMME INFORMATION

Prices effective from 6th April 2026

Weekly classes run for 2¼ hours with a typical maximum capacity of 12 participants.

Reminder emails are sent at 1pm the day before.

Prices, duration and capacities may differ for improv intensives and special workshops added to the programme from time to time.

WAITING LISTS

If a class or course is full, or still at pre-booking stage, you may join the waiting list when the button appears on the event. When places become available they are automatically offered to people on the waiting list in order.

BEGINNERS COURSES

Our School of Improv programme begins at Level 1 with a structured Beginners Course.

Courses ensure participants build a strong foundation in the core principles of improvisation and an understanding of our approach and community values before moving on to intermediate classes.

Each course runs over 6 weekly classes and is booked as a complete block.

6 Week Beginners Course

Standard Price: £150

Supported Price: £120

Course Transfers, Cancellations and No Shows

Courses cancelled with at least 7-days-notice may be refunded less a 10% admin charge or offered a transfer to a future course.

Courses cancelled with at least 24-hours-notice may receive up to a 50% credit to use on a future course or a direct transfer to a future course.

Course credits, transfers and refunds are created manually and need to be requested by email.

There are no refunds or transfers available for missed classes in a course.

If after the first class you decide the course isn’t right for you, tell us within a couple of days and we’ll refund the remaining sessions. This helps us offer the place to someone on the waiting list.

TASTER CLASSES

Every 6 weeks or so we deliver Taster Classes, typically preceding the next Beginners block

Tasters are aimed at Beginners level and provide a sense of our approach prior to booking a full course.

They are also suitable for people who may have experience from elsewhere to try a class with us to see if an intermediate level may be a more suitable starting point.

Taster Class Prices

Standard Price: £15

Supported Price: £12

Following the Taster, attendees are provided with £15/£12 Credit to use on the course should they decide to go on to book.

Taster Transfers, Cancellations and No Shows

Taster Classes can be transferred once to another Taster if there is one available within the next 60 days with as little as 4-hours-notice.

Tasters cancelled with at least 24-hours-notice may receive a 50% credit on a future taster. Credits are created manually and need to be requested by email.

If you provide no advance warning and don't show up to the Taster, you may be unable to book a taster in the future.

WEEKLY CLASSES

Levels 2 to 4 - Improvers, Headway, Ensemble

After completing the Beginners Course, participants can continue developing their skills through our weekly improv classes

To ensure a good learning experience, classes normally run with at least 6 participants booked in advance.

If a class has fewer than 6 bookings, we may merge it with another class of a similar level where possible. If this is not possible, we may provide notice that the class will be postponed or cancelled, and we will offer a transfer or credit.

STANDBY TICKETS

Occasionally we release Standby Tickets for a class when there are still spaces available close to the start time. These places help us fill spare spots and keep classes lively and well balanced. When available, Standbys may appear on the day of the class, often a few hours beforehand. They are typically priced at the same level as our Taster Classes (£15 / £12). No refunds, credits or transfers on Standbys.

CLASS PASSES

Passes are available from Level 2 onwards

Passes allow regular participants to attend classes at a reduced per-class price and offer flexibility when booking.

Pass durations last 60 days from the first class booked.

Standard / Supported Price Passes cost:

12 Class Pass: £288

6 Class Pass: £150 / £120 (Most Popular)

5 Class Pass: £130 / £105

4 Class Pass: £108 / £86

3 Class Pass: £84 / £66

Passholder Cancellations and Transfers

To help us plan classes effectively and reduce empty spaces caused by last-minute cancellations, the cancellation window is 24 hours before the class start time. Passholders who cancel a class ticket at least 24 hours in advance retain its use.

If something unexpected comes up, Passholders may transfer their place to another class up to 4 hours before the class starts. Each class ticket may be transferred once.

After these timeframes the pass credit will be counted as used.

On direct request to us, we may allow another named attendee to take your place. Passholders must not give their place to another participant without prior confirmation from us.

You should always notify us if they can't make a class. A pattern of repeated no shows may affect your ability to buy a pass in the future or lead to your pass being revoked.

DROP-IN CLASSES

Drop-in Classes are available from Level 2 onwards

These prices are for classes booked individually, without a pass.

'Drop-in' Single Class Prices

Standard Price: £30

Supported Price: £24

Single Class Transfers and Cancellations

Single Classes booked without a pass can be transferred once to another available class within the next 60 days with as little as 4-hours-notice.

They may also be cancelled with at least 24-hours-notice. However there are no automatic credits as there are with passes. On request, we may offer a 50% credit if the place is filled from the waiting list.

If you provide no advance warning and repeatedly fail to show up to class without due cause, you may be unable to book in the future.

On direct request to us, we may allow another named attendee to take your place. You must not gift their place to another participant without prior confirmation from us.
